The ongoing saga of Maddog and Timmy the Kid

groupshoot4.jpg
Palm Valley Ranch and the Cowboy Church hosted its 2nd Annual Old West Show and Cookout Saturday, July 7, 2007.

The event included a cookout open to the public and a family friendly Old West Show with Cowboys & Indians, shootouts, Western Games on horseback, music and many more laughs and surprises as our Bumbling Bandits wrestle with life and struggles in the Old West.

If you missed last year's show, here's a recap:

Mad Dog and Timmy the Kid rob the church offering and escape.  The Preacher and the sheriff band together with some Indian scouts to hunt down the bandits, and end up stealing one of the bandits' horses.  In an effort to get the horse back, Mad Dog and Timmy ride back into town and get caught in a gunfight. In a valiant effort to escape, Mad Dog leaves the money behind. Timmy the Kid and Mad Dog call out the preacher "cus they stole that money fair and square!" When the bandits realize they would be out-gunned by the Preacher, they give up the life of stealing and thievery and offer their lives to Christ.

Now, its one year later, and we looked in on them and to see how Mad Dog and Timmy the Kid have changed . . . or had they? The night satrted of with a flashback. Later we seethe bumbling duoride into town for what should have been an innocent game of poker, and turns into a brawl in the saloon. The two decide to settle it like men and have a a shootout where Timmy shoots himself in the foot and Mad Dog shot the hat off an innocent bystander.

With the quickdraw gone horribly bad, the two decide that they will pick teams and do speed games on horseback to settle the matter.  Except neither one can play fair, and both teams are caught cheating - and when they don't cheat, they tie!

So they tried to fight it out, and fought like girls.  They tried to shoot it out, and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.  They tried to race, and still couldn't settle matters. As the two bandits argue, a stampede of cattle comes racing through town! All the townsfolk scatter, and its up to Timmy the Kid and Maddog to save the town.

In the end, the Maddog and timmy the Kid realize they work better as a team instead of working against each other. They set aside their differences and band together to continue on their  bandit ways, and race off to rob the nearest stage coach.
